Marlink is the world's largest private Accounting Authority. We operate under the Accounting Authority Identification Codes (AAIC) BE02, DP02, NL02, NO01 and US03 and recognized by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and accredited by most shipping registers.
What is Traffic Accounting?
An Accounting Authority is accredited to a flag state to account for the calls of vessels flying the flag of that state. For most states, vessels are required by law to have an AA to settle its accounts. The AA is remunerated by a percentage-based handling charge on communications made.
The Accounting Authority performs 2 essential functions:
• It settles the accounts on behalf of its customers for communications generated on Operators’ (Radio Coast
stations, Land Earth Stations LESO and Gateways) communication networks.
• It consolidates bills from all Operators used into a single invoice, in a single currency, for the vessel owner or
ship management company. Marlink settles bills for over 164 operators)
