Cut out the middle-man and save on your shore-to-ship calls
When you make a call via satellite, your call is first routed through your local telecom operator's set-up either through a local Land Earth Station or to a Land Earth Station in another country, based on the routing agreements between the operators of the two countries. Many telephone operators tack on a substantial add-on to the rate for this type of connection.
Satellite Direct Plus
With a Satellite Direct Plus subscription*, you call directly to a special access number in the US and thus pay only the normal landline rate your operator charges for calls to the US. Satellite Direct Plus supports the following call types:
- High-quality or low-speed voice
- 3.1 kHz Audio used for STU-III, fax and low-speed data
- UDI (Unrestricted Digital Interface) Data used for Mobile ISDN high-speed data or Secure Terminal Equipment (STE)
