Inmarsat C

Inmarsat C services represent the perfect solution for specific requirements involving digital transmission. It also fulfills the requirements for Ship Security Alert Systems (SSAS)

The small and affordable Inmarsat C terminals represent by far the largest number of Inmarsat terminals currently in the system. The small Inmarsat C antenna is easily mounted atop a radar mast, making it perfect for use on small vessels.

Safety (GMDSS)

Inmarsat C offers digital satellite communications for store and forward telex, store and forward data, email via Internet broadcast facility (Enhanced Group Call) and fleet tracking (Polling and Data Reporting).

The Inmarsat C system is approved by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). GMDSS has been compulsory for all passenger and merchant ships over 300 DWT since 1999.

Email and SMS

The highly successful service, Inmarsat C E-mail, makes it possible to send email directly to and from your Inmarsat C terminal. You can also send SMS using Inmarsat C SMS

Polling and Broadcasts

Inmarsat C is ideal for Fleet Tracking (Polling and Data Reporting). Mobile terminals can be programmed to report information, either at fixed intervals or in response to a poll request.

Inmarsat C also supports Broadcast (Enhanced Group Calls), a cost-efficient way to send messages to all or parts of your fleet.
