MARLINK’S COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
Marlink is pleased to support Norway House, helping children in the Khmer Friendship Orphanage
Norway House is a private aid initiative which aims at improving the overall wellbeing of approximately 150 children at the Khmer Friendship Orphanage (KFO) in Cambodia, by providing them with a safe and healthy environment.
Donations from Marlink have contributed towards vast improvements to the living conditions of the children living at KFO. In November 2008, Marlink was proud to send a team of employees to visit the orphanage. During the visit the team of employees delivered over 150 school uniforms for the children which were bought with donations from the employees of Marlink. Upon visiting the orphanage, Christy Tong, Customer Centre Manager at Marlink Singapore commented: “Besides being a great social initiative to a humanitarian effort, it’s made me feel so proud and honoured to be a part of Marlink.”
The ultimate goal of Norway House is to enable the children to lead independent and prosperous lives outside of the orphanage. On 16th October 2009, 19 year old Kong Dine from the Khmer Friendship Orphanage started a 4 year course in Accounting at the University of Law and Economics in Phnom Penh, paid for by Marlink’s donations.

MARLINK’S ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Going for Green!
As part of our commitment to a sustainable maritime environment, we at Marlink have been supporting key environmental projects throughout the world, including Project Kaisei, a project set up by the
Ocean Voyages Institute to research practical solutions to the problems associated with the
vast amounts of plastic and marine debris in the North Pacific Gyre.
Most recently, Marlink donated airtime to Project Kaisei so that team members would have
always-on voice and Internet connectivity, enabling them to keep interested parties up to date
with all their latest findings.
Marlink have also been sponsoring Green Warriors of Norway by donating equipment and airtime to the ‘Miljødrønningen’ or ‘Environmental Queen’ which is considered the most environmentally friendly ship in the world. ‘Miljødrønningen’ is used for coastal surveillance and environmental research off the coast of Norway. In addition, the vessel is used as a conference center.
Our satellite communications services are essential to the project team for a variety of applications, including sending research findings ashore for analysis, as well as always-on voice, video and data links for business conferences.
